Sound + Mindfulness
Quiet the Mind. Return to the Present Moment.
Our minds are rarely still.
We think about what happened yesterday, anticipate what might happen tomorrow, replay conversations, make plans, solve problems, and move from one thought to another—often without realizing how far we've traveled from the present moment.
Sound gives us something to come back to.
Sound + Mindfulness combines therapeutic sound with guided mindfulness practices to help you step away from the constant activity of the thinking mind and reconnect with the stillness that exists underneath it.
Rather than trying to stop your thoughts, you'll learn to notice them, allow them, and gently return your awareness to the present moment.
Sound as an Anchor for Awareness
One of the foundations of mindfulness is learning to place your attention in the present moment.
The breath is often used as an anchor.
In this experience, we also use sound.
The vibration of a singing bowl. The resonance of a chime. The rhythm of a drum. The subtle moment when a sound fades into silence.
Each gives your awareness something happening right now to rest upon.
As you listen intentionally, you begin shifting your attention away from the stories of the mind and toward your immediate experience.
And when your mind wanders—as minds naturally do—you simply notice and return to the sound.
Listen. Notice. Return.
This simple practice can become a doorway into deeper presence.
You Don't Have to Stop Thinking
Many people believe meditation means having an empty mind.
It doesn't.
The mind thinks. That's what it does.
Mindfulness teaches us something different: you can become aware of your thoughts without automatically following every thought that appears.
During your session, you'll be gently guided to observe thoughts, emotions, sensations, sounds, and moments of silence without needing to change or judge them.
Over time, you may begin to recognize an important distinction:
There are your thoughts—and there is the awareness noticing your thoughts.
Sound helps us explore that space.
From Sound to Silence
Sound and silence are not opposites.
They reveal one another.
During your session, we'll intentionally explore both—the presence of sound and the stillness that remains when the sound disappears.
A singing bowl is struck.
You listen as the vibration expands.
You follow it as it becomes softer and softer.
Eventually, you can no longer hear it.
And for a moment...
there is simply awareness.
These spaces between sounds offer an opportunity to experience stillness without forcing it.
More Than Relaxation
Sound healing and Mindfulness can certainly be deeply relaxing, but relaxation isn't the only purpose.
This experience is also about developing a different relationship with your mind.
Instead of automatically becoming absorbed in every thought, you practice noticing when the mind has carried you away and gently returning to the present.
That same awareness can begin to follow you beyond your session.
While you're driving.
Having a conversation.
Feeling an emotion.
Walking outside.
Washing the dishes.
Or simply sitting quietly.
Mindfulness isn't something that only happens during meditation. It's a way of experiencing your life while you're actually living it.
